Frequently Asked Questions...
How long does it take to get a black belt?
.....It varries from person to person. Factors include things such as your schedule and how much time you're willing to put in. Also each unique individual evolves differently in a martial arts setting. The average time can range from 4-8 years, but a truely dedicated student can reach it in 2 years with the help of private lessons along with regular classes.
What's the ratio of men to women? adults to children?
.....The breakup between men and women falls pretty evenly. Some days we have more men, some days we have all girls. That's just how it works out.
We specifically have adult classes seperate to the children's class to avoid injury, you can join the adult class when you're 16, although some exceptions are made considering skill and size.
What are the benefits that I, or my children, will get from learning karate.
.....There are numerous benefits for taking karate for yourself and children. At Norther Tiger Kenpo, we teach both street combat and ancient strength building exercises. You'll become more fit and more in tune with your body. Your movement and balance will also improve. And you gain a sense of discipline which is hard to develop in other sports.
How many classes will I get with my monthly payment?
.....You'll get as many classes as you come to, but the advanced kata classes are usually reserved for brown and black belts.
